Hello my pretties,

So, it's a new year...with new flare and lots to celebrate.

Big things are happening this year *fingers crossed*...

...starting with me resuming my blog.

After a few months of some tech difficulties, I decided to give it another go and keep this bad boy alive!

So, let's pour some bubbly [like these models], get dolled up..and start this year right!

To 2015!

BRB: Back and Ready to Blog.

***
Sigh....

So this has been such a hectic and crazily eventful year, but I am glad to say that it's over and, almost a year later (since my last post), I am now a college graduate *blush* with a number of new experiences that I am so eager to share with you all!

I always mention just how much I love blogging, as not just a means of keeping up with the fashion industry, but also simply as a creative outlet, and I am just itching to dust this keyboard off and stretch these editorial muscles.

Thus, après a little blogging cat nap, I am back, happily so, and ready to blog.

umm..how do I do this again?? Eek...

Hundrenth post y'all!
Who would have thought that when I started this blog just about a year ago that we'd be here today?

So, in celebration, have some cake! [but not too much..wouldn't want to ruin your figure :)]
...just the beginning kiddies...more to come!

*Buy or Bye!

***
*meep*

So, here I am once again introducing a new element to this blog.

It's only going to be a trial..and depending on kiddy participation will hopefully become a fun and regular feature.

The game is called "Buy or Bye!"

Here's a magazine cover followed by a quick-click poll...

...see where this is going?

Let's get to it then, starting with this month's issue of US Vogue!

Remember kiddies, vote on the cover not the mag!

Would you stop and shop? Or keep on trucking? Let your clicker do the talking!

hmm..*sips tea*...

I'm neglecting you again, aren't I?

Lo siento kiddies... spent the weekend in Bristol by the cousin. It was interesting to say the least...haha...

...and other than the wonderful Trini food my cousin cooked, she is super inspirational...following her own dreams and goals..

Sigh. But being on a 3 hour coach..and having to pack and unpack just reminded me of how many hours in these past six months I've been in transit...

...with more traveling coming soon! Haha....

Anyways, being a blog about finding inspiration in constant uprooting, here's some nomadic pretty to start off your day..
"Trail Blazers": Daria Werbowy and Lily Donaldson in Cuzco, Peru by Mario Testino for Vogue UK. March 2008.

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine

“There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

“A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.” – John Steinbeck

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” – Henry Miller

“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard

Sometimes I find myself complaining that world travel isn't as glamorous as it's cracked up to be, having to live out of a suitcase and slum it out sometimes [and look like a hot mess toting heavy suitcases through New York City]...but honestly, it's worth it...

Maybe I'm being totally existential right now, [blame the impending return to the US] but the experiences that I have had in the past few months are ...I dunno.. live-changing, priceless, once-in-a-lifetime...and have certainly impacted me and inspired me in ways I could never have imagined *tear* ...cliché, I know.

And, while I am somewhat excited to return to the States, I will definitely, DEFINITELY miss this gloriously cultural country... [and, of course, will be back!]

ah well.. "The only thing constant is change..."...a concept that I am slowly understanding...but, as one very amazing friend rightfully said, it's not the end..just a new chapter...something new to get used to...to keep me on my toes...life does that...

...and hopefully I look amaze doing it! Ha!

*exhaustion

***
If any of you readers have been following since the conception of this blog, you will probably know that I usually post pretty regularly.

However, with the end of the semester coming up, I've had a lot of work [and a lot less sleep] so, unfortunately, I think the exhaustion is setting in.

Your long awaited daily pretty, which maybe isn't so pretty..haha, is an ode to what I've looked like this week. [ok..maybe not that fabulous]

Enjoy!

Hopefully I get a lot of posts done before finals!

Happy December kiddies!

*RainyDay

***
Ew. It's been super rainy for the past few days here in England. And, if you think that's enough to get you depressed, imagine how I feel! As a result of the dreary weather, I have been perpetually lazy, curled up in bed, trying to stay warm. *insert massive hot chocolate craving here*

Naturally, I'm gonna turn this frown upside down, and blog about it!

So... *drum roll* wonderfully depressing rain editorials!
Haha, just kidding! They're inspiring, in their own way and, although I love the sun and warmth, coming from the Caribbean, these pictures make me want to get my brolly and a pair of rain boots and go splash in some puddles.

Enjoy!

*Style File?

***
As opposed to the 'Target_:' posts, which focus on celebrity style, both casual and red carpet, as a source of inspiration, models may not necessarily have the most fashion-forward personal style, and thus the 'Style File' posts will be aimed more at their ferocious, emotion-evoking, professional work...
...like this...

*Comments. Questions. Concerns.

 ***
Seeing as how I am relatively new to blogging...and I am well aware that no one really wants to religiously read about one college student's search in finding inspiration... [don't worry I'm not offended..haha..] I am taking suggestions on how to make the blog more appealing...

I am all for feedback, once it lies within the constructive realm....[emphasis on constructive] and I will try my utter hardest to satisfy everyone who responds...
So...what do you want to hear about? Should I have polls? More pictures, less words? [Less pictures, more words?]

Also, I'm toying with the idea of having a "Daily Pretty"...or something like that...something beautiful to start your day off...maybe a gorgeous fashion picture...or even an inspirational quote that strikes a chord within me..

I'm sure some of you out there also need a daily shot of inspiration before pounding the pavement and tackling the world... I know I do....

*Bad Blogger.

***

soooo...it's the second time I haven't blogged in a while...but this time with good reason..Although partially due to laziness and time constraints, I also have spent a great deal of the past month, unsettled, and traveling all over England.

Thus, I haven't had the most time, or in some cases internet, to sit and construct a post. [also..I need to learn to blog more efficiently, making shorter but more frequent posts...almost like how tweeting has become second nature to me.]

With this blog, I am really trying to keep it from being too personal...as, although I am spending a semester abroad in the gorgeous English countryside and experiencing so many wonderful things, I hope to use this more as an inspiration guide...highlighting to all--especially artists, whether his tools be paint or voice or fabric, that inspiration is to be found everywhere.

So, even though I am a little overwhelmed with school work at the moment...I am going to make a conscious effort to blog more often.

*pinky promise*

Short enough?

*Choices. Chances. Changes.

"Write even when you don't want to, don't much like what you are writing, and aren't writing particularly well."

The aforementioned quote is by renowned British crime writer Agatha Christie. It seems like a fitting entree into my blogging 'career' as well, for one, I need to practice my writing skills, and I'm in England for a bit.

It is my intention with this blog, to express my thoughts and feelings, my reactions to the world, as I grow and learn and am exposed to the wonderfully changing world around me.

I am forever thankful for many of the experiences, whether good or bad, that I have had in the past few years, as they have all had an impact on my character and my 'creative personality.'

This blog is dedicated to friends lost, friends gained, heart surgeries and heart breaks, as I document the world through my eyes.
