*tis the season

Sigh kiddies...I'm a little peeved today.

Christmas has come and gone and I didn't get my wish of being a Victoria's Secret Angel.
VS Angels circa 2005
...haha I'm kidding..[not really]

...but my last post and searching for Christmas+Fashion pics reminded me that I didn't cover their fashion show this year.

meh.

While I should've, their show has become such a spectacle, focusing I guess more on the entertainment and performers, with models hyping up the crowd, rather than on the garments worn.
Christmas Angels!
I guess being a lingerie fashion show and all one has to expect a certain amount of unconventionality, but sometimes I get the impression that their designers create large, lavish wings, and variations of, just because they can.

The whole need to make the show [and the wings] bigger and better than the year before seems to detract from the clothes, which I think should be the focal point of a fashion show. However, being the most watched fashion show on the planet they must be doing something right as, the brand experiences a large amount of publicity...which is a definite plus.

Anyway, you're probably craving the pretty...like I'm craving some mulled wine, so here it is! Don't feel too badly if your body may not look like these girls'... it is, after all, the day after Christmas!

So without further ado, some of my favorite Christmas looks, courtesy Victoria's Secret...

I'll make it up to you, I promise!

But for now, here's to you and yours; wishing you all health, happiness and love this season and for the New Year!

Ok...so I've been a bad blogger again. Hope Santa doesn't put me on his naughty list for neglecting my wonderful readers!

With Christmas a mere 5 days away, I have been so busy with shopping, cleaning and decorating...and it doesn't look like it's going to end soon.

All I want for Christmas is a personal assistant...seriously...

*the end is near

***
Long time no see!

Good morning kiddies... I am finished with finals..and thus, the rest of my semester consists of returning library books and packing to leave *sad face* [although I will still be in England].

While this has been an amazing, full of life-changing experiences and inspiration, I am pretty eager to get some rest; it was a pretty exhausting term! I can honestly say however, that I will always cherish this experience and the people that I have come in contact with over here...

And, with the end of this crazy chapter in my life in sight [and loads of free time], I thought you could use some pretty...

*Target_: Victoria Beckham

***
It's been a while since I've done a 'Target' post although this one's been in the making for quite some time now. However, with such a high profile, and incredibly talented, celebrity such as Mrs. Beckham, it's been quite the task;
a) sorting through the mass amount of pics I've collected, and
b) creating the collages.
First on the agenda, some brief background info! [although most of you probably know these]:
*Career beginnings as 'Posh Spice' of the Spice Girls, an early indicator of an interest in fashion.

*Married David Beckham in 1999 and been popping out babies ever since. The couple has four children; three sons and a daughter.

*Ventured into the fashion world, firstly as a model for London Fashion Week in 2000, and brand ambassador for Dolce and Gabbana in 2003, before launching her denim line "dvb Style" in 2006.

*Debuted her first collection at New York Fashion Week in 2008 to enormously positive reviews.

*Has been the face of Rocawear 2003, Marc Jacobs SS2008, Armani 2009 [with husband David Beckham].

*Has graced the cover of Vogue a total of 6 times.

*Winner of Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2011

Her style, now described as confidently simple and timeless, which often shows through in her own personal style,  hasn't always been as, how should I say, refined. *see below*
However, she quickly rediscovered the 'posh' aspect that brought her fame, and has since become quite the style icon. In fact, I don't know what she's most known for; her role as a member of the Spice Girls,a footballer's wife, fashion icon or designer.

Quite multifaceted wouldn't you say?

These are just a few examples of her stunning outfits and style sense. Sharp, chic and always looking composed, what a fashionable turnaround from that previous set of images no?
Gorgeous no?

*superhuman

***
With this exhausting, but eventful, semester wrapping up and finals right around the corner, I'm going to need some type of superhuman ability to stay focused on studying while trying to deal with cranky people who're buckling under the pressure [one of the downsides to living in such close confines]...

That's not to say that I myself won't be cranky [cause I probably will be] but I guess I can try to look cute while fending off [and dishing out] the attitude....right?

If any of you readers have been following since the conception of this blog, you will probably know that I usually post pretty regularly.

However, with the end of the semester coming up, I've had a lot of work [and a lot less sleep] so, unfortunately, I think the exhaustion is setting in.

Your long awaited daily pretty, which maybe isn't so pretty..haha, is an ode to what I've looked like this week. [ok..maybe not that fabulous]

*Fall 2012 Trend Alert: Orient Express

***
Sigh. Definitely been a while since I featured a "Trend" post on the blog and I figured might as well get them done while these trends are well, still trends! Haha.

Today's agenda: Oriental!
2012 has so far seen a massive interest in the East, predominantly with the Asian nations. While it may be because China is set to become the dominant global power in the next few years, or it may just have to do with globalization, or even the amazingly vivid inspiration provided by such a rich and colorful culture....whatever the reason, the exquisite luxury of the orient is back!
Louis Vuitton, Dries Van Noten, Zac Posen and Osman are just some of the designers using floral fabrics in their kimono and cheongsam inspired pieces.

 Take a look!

Think it's hard to pull off? Celebs do it without looking too literal....[with the exception of Katy Perry]
Top Row L-R: Fan BingBing, Elisa Sednaoui, Katy Perry, Audrey Tatou, Dakota Fanning
Bottom Row L-R: Olivia Palermo, Katy Perry, Dita Von Tesse, Liya Kebede, Katy Perry

Paired with basics, these pieces can add pop to any outfit. Timeless and chic with a modern interpretation. Who wouldn't want to dress like that?

After all, isn't the modern woman a woman of the world?

Morning kiddies!

I know it's been a while since I've posted and I really am being a delinquent blogger..but this week has been so utterly hectic for me...

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you guys. I have thought about you every day that I didn't post...but school work, unfortunately, comes first...

Anyway, second set of papers in, and I've got about two weeks before the crazy starts again.

As a result, all I want to do right now is catch up on my missing sleep, which is another reason why I've been pretty neglectful of the blog.

Now that I'm rested, some daily pretty?

Can you guess the theme? :)

*Remember, remember...

***
***
Remember, remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason, why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, guy, t'was his intent
To blow up king and parliament.
Three score barrels were laid below
To prove old England's overthrow.
By God's mercy he was catch'd
With a darkened lantern and burning match.
So, holler boys, holler boys, Let the bells ring.
Holler boys, holler boys, God save the king.

And what shall we do with him?
Burn him!
***

So, it's Guy Fawkes' day and, as most of you know, we celebrate his failure to bomb Parliament by [none other than] setting off fireworks!

Hence, firework themed fashion! Seems fitting right?

*RainyDay

***
Ew. It's been super rainy for the past few days here in England. And, if you think that's enough to get you depressed, imagine how I feel! As a result of the dreary weather, I have been perpetually lazy, curled up in bed, trying to stay warm. *insert massive hot chocolate craving here*

Naturally, I'm gonna turn this frown upside down, and blog about it!

So... *drum roll* wonderfully depressing rain editorials!
Haha, just kidding! They're inspiring, in their own way and, although I love the sun and warmth, coming from the Caribbean, these pictures make me want to get my brolly and a pair of rain boots and go splash in some puddles.

Enjoy!

*Halloween:Aftermath

***
What do a Hindu Goddess, a primate, and a skinless corpse have in common?? They've all been Heidi Klum's Halloween costumes!
With hurricane Sandy ravishing the East Coast of the US, many of the Halloween festivities had to be cancelled. Most notably, the New York Halloween parade, which was cancelled for the first time in 39 years, and Heidi Klum's annual Halloween party! *sad face* due to the hurricane dubbed "Frankenstorm."

Thus, in honor of Ms. Klum's dedication to the holiday, I have decided to feature the past 12 of her elaborate costumes, including the one she would've worn this year, as today's 'Daily Pretty!'
Top Row L-R: Lady Godiva, Betty Boop, Sexy Alien, Red Witch, Black Witch, Eve's apple
Bottom Row: Black Cat, Goddess Kali, Crow, Transformer, Skinless Corpse, Cleopatra

What's your favorite? I personally LOVE the Transformer from 2010. #amaze

*p.s. If any of you are reading from the East Coast, or have friends or family there, I hope everyone's alright. Stay safe. Stay warm kiddies!

*Bath.

***
Morning all!

Sigh. Been slacking on my posts! This one has been two weeks in the making!
Exactly two Saturdays ago, I had the privilege of going to the city of Bath with my classmates.
A gorgeously romantic, Roman city, given it's name from the thermal spring baths that was used up to as early as 60 A.D!
L-R: Overhead of Royal Crescent+Circus. Bath Abbey. Pultney Bridge x2. Bath Abbey. Royal Circus.

Bath's got everything...from a rich history linked to Roman settlement and Jane Austen, to inspiring architecture [which includes an amazing cathedral and the famous Royal Crescent and Circus] to...*get ready for this* a fashion museum! Can you guess what my first stop was?
Even got to see a McQueen original, which was chosen as 'Dress of the Year' for 2011! #amaze

There's even the famous 'Pump Room' where a number of Jane Austen movies filmed scenes! It's open to the public for tea, just got to queue up [but obviously there's a long queue]. It's worth it though, most amazing tea I've had here in a stunningly gorgeous room. #classy
If you ever venture to England and you're searching for inspiration, Bath is definitely the place to provide it.An eclectic and modern mix of people in a beautifully historical city, what more could you ask for?!

I was obviously interested in the fashion, which the city seems to be a hub of, but if you like history or architecture, even Jane Austen novels, this is certainly a must see!
Breathtaking no? Must revisit!
*adds to bucket list*
